Report anti-semitism at Harvard

What is this website for?

The purpose of this website is to collect information about antisemitic incidents on the Harvard campus or within the Harvard community (including, for example, graffiti and other forms of vandalism; social media posts; personal interactions with students, faculty, administrators, and others; and protests or disruptions with antisemitic signs or chants).

We will use the information collected to raise awareness of antisemitism at Harvard by, for example, providing the information to Harvard administrators.

Our goal is to make Harvard safer for students and other members of the Harvard community who are Jewish. While the focus of this website is on antisemitism, we welcome efforts to make everyone at Harvard feel safer and strongly oppose hate against any member of the Harvard community.

What is this website not for?

The purpose of this website is not to collect information for “doxxing” or shaming students or other community members. Any information we publicly post will be de-identified. Nor is the purpose of the website to promote any particular political position on the Middle East conflict. The only purpose of the website is to collect information about antisemitism at Harvard.

Reporting form

To report any antisemitic incident at Harvard, please use the following form: bit.ly/harvard-report

Reporting on this website is not in lieu of official reporting, which we encourage you to do as well. If you have an immediate concern for your safety, please call the HUPD at 617-495-1212 (Cambridge/Allston) or 617-432-1212 (Longwood). College students may report incidents to the Harvard College Office for Academic Integrity and Student Conduct.

Do I have to include my name?

We encourage you to include your name and contact information in case a follow-up is appropriate, but you are welcome to report anonymously. Even if you provide your name and contact information, we will not publicly post any information that could identify you.

What will you do with the reports

We aim to share the information collected with appropriate units at Harvard, including the Presidential Task Force to Combat Antisemitism. We may also share summaries of the information, after removing any personal information, with external organizations that collect data on or seek to fight antisemitism. We may publicly post some examples of antisemitic incidents, without any identifying information. Harvard is now facing Congressional investigations and private litigation alleging antisemitism at Harvard; we may thus be legally required, pursuant to a subpoena, to share information uploaded to the website

Why is this needed?

Unfortunately, antisemitism at Harvard is a real problem; see this blog post, lawsuit, and senior thesis. Examples of antisemitic social media posts by members of the Harvard community can be seen in this document. We believe that the problem cannot be solved without understanding and raising awareness about its scope.
